Painting holiday
We have just returned form a caravan trip down the South Coast, lots of beautiful country to paint.
There were some very wild seas, massive waves crashing on the rocks, I managed to paint a few of these seascapes, wanting to capture the anger & power of the scene.

"Dusk in the outback" oil on canvas
Feel the heat, the sun has set, but the heat of the day still leaves a glow to the sky, as the crows fly in to settle for the night

"Days End" pastel
The sun sets on another hot day in north western NSW, the shadows are long & the last suns rays just touch the tops of the grass. I love this time of day the colours are vivid & the air is clear & everything seems to glow.
While I am sketching my husband has the BBQ going just to the right of my easel, what a great end to another beautiful day in the outback.
This pastel was done from a quick watercolour sketch.
